Can you go low cost weekend to Spain from UK? What is the cheapest way to travel to Spain ?Here is a guide on how to enjoy a weekend in Spain, in Barcelona and Mallorca. It’s really the cheapest option if you don’t want to spend money and don’t enjoy luxury.
How to plan a Low Cost Weekend To Spain From UK.
The basic rule is to choose a date well in advance. You can then use the skyscanner to find the airports nearby. For my example I used Manchester and on omio I found a train from Leeds to Manchester there and back for £15(the price was in July 2024 and I don’t guarantee that the price is what you will find). This is how we have solved the journey from home to the airport and we can plan the flight.
How to find flights to Spain?
I found that the best price and availability is Jet2. On the Jet2 website I found a ticket and day number 1 for 75 pounds (with a seat reservation and other fees).
On day number 2 I found a promotion on flights with Mallorca for 65 pounds (including fees). So now we have tickets there and back. This price was in July 2024 and I don’t deny that it will be like this again.

Day number one in Barcelona of our Low Cost Weekend To Spain.
Departure from Manchester was at 9:00 in the morning and after arriving in Barcelona you lose 1 hour (time shift). In Barcelona, you can take a bus from the airport directly to the city centre. You can go for example to the Basílica de la Sagrada Família. It is possible to pay by card on the bus.

The best thing is to walk along the sea and visit the beaches, you have the whole day to do it. In the evening, we will have a challenging boat journey to Mallorca from the port. You can buy a ticket for about 15 pounds (the price is June 2024) The price is very cheap for a 9 hour journey.
Unfortunately, the price does not include a bed. So you sleep everywhere on the floor. That’s why I recommend buying a small pillow and blanket. Or you can buy a ticket from Barcelona to Mallorca for about £95. The boat can be endured and in the morning you can watch the sea and Mallorca in the distance.
The boat departs from the port and you can also go to Ibiza, only the ticket is around 45 pounds. You can buy all tickets on omio.

Day number two in Mallorca of our Low Cost Weekend To Spain.
You will be in Ibiza from 8 in the morning to 22 in the evening to enjoy( if you go back at 22:00)
The port is right next to the centrum, where you can go straight to the beach or walk around the city or visit the castle nearby. Beware of buses are only cash. There are vending machines around the centrum that charge you a fee for withdrawal. Have cash or pay by card in shops.

I recommend you to taste their ice cream and choose as few places as possible for one day to fully enjoy relaxation. It can be up to £250 in two days, depending on how much you spend.
